NTMA is the National Tooling and Machine Association and it operates a school in Ontario and Norwalk for teaching the skills of a machinist. This is a hands on school. But in addition to machine shop tools, students will learn about computers and computer controlled equipment. This is truly a high tech career that has high pay and strong job security. Financial aid is available for those who quality; there is also job placement assistance, and you do not need a high school diploma to enroll. About eighty percent of the students at NTMA land a job following graduation. I was very impressed to meet the employers who depend on NTMA to train and prepare workers for their businesses here in Southern California. Providence is the capital and the most populous city in Rhode Island, and one of the first cities established in the United States. Located in Providence County, it is the estimated second or third largest city in the New England region. Despite the city proper only having an estimated population of 171909 as of 2009, it anchors the 36th largest metropolitan population in the country, with an estimated MSA population of 1600856, exceeding that of Rhode Island by about 60% due to its reaching into southern Massachusetts. Situated at the mouth of the Providence River, at the head of Narragansett Bay, the city’s small footprint is crisscrossed by seemingly erratic streets and contains a rapidly changing demographic. Providence was founded in 1636 by Roger Williams, a religious exile from the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Increasing Contracts And Decreasing Costs Means Higher Profits

For those companies that are feeling the pinch, often they cannot drum up more trade. This is particularly true when there is a recession in the country or even the world. However, there is another way of protecting the bottom line. This is done with something called expense reduction which will bring down the costs for the company. Of course, the less the costs, the more profit there is and so it goes on. Of course, if a contract negotiation goes well too, this can also affect the bottom line. Get clients to pay more for goods and, naturally, there will be more money at the end of the day.

There are companies out there which can take a company and figure out how to let it earn more money. These third party companies are experts in increasing the bottom line so even their fees are taken into account too. They will gather information about the industry concerned and then apply it to this one particular company. Some companies will think that they can do this kind of work for themselves, but it is often a disinterested party which can figure it all out unemotionally. Even adding one worker to a company payroll will incur many different charges. He may need to be trained, or he may need a uniform or protective clothing etc. All will add to the expenses of the company so multiplying this by the number of workers taken on will certainly take a bite out of the profit margin. Of course, some companies also offer health insurance and housing allowances too so this can be quite a sum of money per person in the end.

If this is a hotel chain, for example, this third party company will do all the costing for having off site laundry or linen hire. Although most companies will have their own linens etc., they will have to have a laundry to take care of the goods as well. Now this will cover capital cost, repairs, workers, electricity and all the other peripheral costs to keep the place going. However, if they hire an outside company to provide the linen and get them to launder it as well, the cost could conceivably come down as long as they negotiate a good deal.

Some companies too will have to hold onto their paperwork for a mandatory period of time. If the office is in the city center, this could prove to be quite expensive. However, there are off-site storage companies which do this work at a reduced cost. They also ensure that the paperwork is kept in good condition so this could reduce costs for the company over time.

It is easy to see then that these third party companies provide a superb service for companies which are looking to reduce their outgoings or which are trying to increase incoming funds. If it could be a mixture of both of these then it is obvious that the company is far more likely to succeed.

Ms. Kerins is the chief executive of the Rehab Group, a not-for-profit organization that operates in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Poland, and the Netherlands. The Rehab Group delivers person-centred services to people with disabilities, older people and others who are marginalized. Last year, more than 43000 people accessed its range of health and social care, training and education, and rehabilitation, employment and commercial services, in more than 250 locations. More than 3500 people are employed by the Rehab Group and its divisions.

Study Finds More Trees on Farms Than Was Thought

This is the VOA Special English Agriculture Report, from voaspecialenglish.com. Farmers, especially in developing countries, are often criticized for cutting down forests. But a new study suggests that many farmers recognize the value in keeping trees. Researchers using satellite images found at least ten percent tree cover on more than one billion hectares of farmland. That is almost half the farmland in the world. The World Agroforestry Center in Kenya led the study. The findings were reported in August in Nairobi at the second World Congress of Agroforestry. Earlier estimates were much lower but incomplete. The authors of the new study say it may still underestimate the true extent worldwide. The study found the most tree cover in South America. Next comes Africa south of the Sahara, followed by Southeast Asia. North Africa and West Asia have the least. The study found that climate conditions alone could not explain the amount of tree cover in different areas. Nor could the size of nearby populations, meaning people and trees can live together. There are areas with few trees but also few people, and areas with many trees and many people. The findings suggest that things like land rights, markets or government policies can influence tree planting and protection. Dennis Garrity heads the World Agroforestry Center. He says farmers are acting on their own to protect and plant trees. The problem, he says, is that policy makers and planners have been slow to recognize this …
